While the term Chicken Half or Chicken Halves refers specifically to a Chicken carcass that is split in half lengthwise, Chickens can also be butchered into top halves and lower halves called Chicken Front Halves and Chicken Lower Halves. The key to keeping the two types of halves straight is to use the words “Front” or “Lower” if you mean a Chicken split at the waist.
